Greater Los Angeles Libertarian Party Meetup Group
We sit for dinner at 7:30 pm with discussion or speaker after dinner. Early arrivers can toss back a drink at Hank's bar or just wait in the hotel lobby. For lingerers Hank's is always there after Uncle John's or Gil's closes. Gil's is currently undergoing renovations and should re-open soon.
This month's featured topic: The Care and Feeding of Activists, by Matthew Barnes. How can we inspire activists to give up their leisure time for political activism? Mr. Barnes has been doing this for over a decade. Activists he has inspired have made a tangible impact on many campaigns, working out of the limelight and getting the hard work done that others take credit for. No single libertarian activist working in California today has inspired more people to put their shoulder to the plow, or put more of their own effort into activism, all without holding any Party office. Let's hear and support!
Note for regular members: Unfortunately, Uncle John's changed their menu to Chinese served by a different wait staff than before and now closes at 9 pm. Members are looking for a new venue, but in the meanwhile, we will continue to meet at Uncle John's until a well-attended meeting of regulars votes on a new location. No hurry. After 9, the lobby of the Stillwell Hotel, Hank's bar, and/or the sidewalk are all available for continuing speaking and discussion. Please bring your venue suggestions to the meeting for consideration.
